Even though this product came to me with one of the comb pieces fallen off, I have super glued it and it works just fine. I would definitely recommend using the larger comb side first before using the thin/more fine side just to allow your pet to get used to the felling of the comb as you brush through their hair. I tried this with my cat and he had no problem with it until he got sick and tired of sitting in my lap.
The finer comb worked much better on getting my cats shedding hair out than the larger comb, but I expected it to be that way. I do like the fact that the tool head is not rigid and that it flexes as you brush. I am giving it 4 stars because it got to me broken.
