Lost In My Mind: Recovering From TBI by Kelly Bouldin Darmofal

As a fellow TBI survivor, I loved having the chance to read Kelly's story and follow along with (and also celebrate) the triumphs. I truly do feel that all educators would benefit from reading her story. If not to better understand some of the things TBI causes, then to simply be able to be more compassionate and helpful to their students.

I barely put this book down once I started reading it. I have had to go through a lot of the things Kelly went through since my own injury and it gave me hope to see the way she was able to overcome a lot of the obstacles that stand in the way of success for those of us dealing with brain injuries. I think reading this story while I was going through my own early recovery period may have helped me to be more positive about my own outcomes.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys seeing someone succeed and reach their goals. I also feel that this book would be good to share with anyone who may not fully understand the way someone with TBI thinks. I plan on sharing this book with my good friends who have often questioned my actions since my injury.
