Working From Home

When people find out that I work from home, one of the first things they usually ask me is, “What do you do” and “How can I do that?” Honestly, I have been doing online work from home since shortly after I graduated from high school (although back then I only got a few freelance gigs every once in awhile and now I have consistent work). I still take on the occasional freelance gig from time to time (I offer my services on websites such as Fiverr and I also just offer my services to people in general (without going through a service or website).

In the years I have spent looking for ways to make money online, I have encountered my fair share of get rich quick schemes, data entry scams, and other “work at home” opportunities that just turned out to be anything but legit. Don't let that get you discouraged, though. I know of a plethora of legit companies who have either just an online presence or have both a brick and mortar type of store/office as well as an online workplace.

I enjoy doing virtual assistant work the most out of anything else that I have done. Through the work I have done as a virtual assistant I have: met celebrities, was given the chance to be in a movie that debuted at Burning Man, and learned a lot of valuable skills that would be able to give me opportunities at “real” jobs (at least I hope they would!). I think the main reason why I love being a virtual assistant so much is because I'm always doing something different. Of course I might have the same types of tasks to do all the time (making phone calls, scheduling appointments, data entry, internet research, verification of information, proofreading & editing, etc.), but I enjoy doing the admin type of work and I enjoy the variety (yes, even in the most boring, lengthy tasks). For example, I recently completed a gig on Fiverr for someone who needed pages and pages of part numbers written down in an Excel spreadsheet and although the task was lengthy and obviously not something that most people would look forward to doing, I took on the task with excitement because I knew at the end of the day I was helping my client and that's what really matters to me.

For those of you who may be wanting to look into finding legitimate jobs online so you can work from home too, stay tuned to the blog because I will be posting more information on where I found the legit jobs and also give you an idea of the amount that the jobs pay (for those that I have previously been paid on).

Never give up on your dreams no matter how silly other people may think they are!
